Reunions 2008/2009

This must be the year for reunions. I've just had lunch with a friend of mine from high school. Shelly and I were inseparable during our junior and senior years (or was it our senior year?). I forget. She used to live at the Van Vleet Arabian Stud in Boulder, Colorado. Her father worked there for Mr. Van Vleet (whom I have never met). I always liked visiting but I didn't like leaving at 10, 11 or 12 p.m., whatever my curfew was at the time. I had to drive through open fields and then make sure to close the gate at the end of the drive. Well, who knew if there were werewolves or killers out there - I didn't want to find out which is why I left before Scott so he would have to close the gate. Ha!
I reunited with Scott last year (found him though MySpace). He and Shelly were friends in junior high and high school and I met both of them one night when a group of us went to see "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" at the Boulder Theater. Funny guy, Scott. I will never forget his laugh, very infectious, a cackle really. I haven't seen Scott since before the holidays. He's going through chemotherapy. I keep him in my prayers and hope to see him soon.
An old roommate of mine, Sandra, thought she'd Google me one day and found a picture of me taken in Sydney, Australia in 2001. She and I were roommates for less than a year but it was a good year! She recently visited me and we had a great time.

What a great year it's been for reunions. I'm wondering who will be crawling out of the proverbial woodwork next?

So, there I was, reading a friend's blog about being a nanny in Italy and my cat walked accross the keyboard. I saw the name Adrienne... could it be? yes! Adg's sister! So, now that I have spied on some of your life I will say Hi, and I enjoyed the trip down memory lane, looking at the pix of tix to red Rocks shows (Adg and I were at several of those shows, too!) Hope all is well, tell yo mama "'Allo!" Love, Barbi
PS: I still own Abo's Pizza on the Hill, if you're ever down in Boulder, I would love to see you! abosonthehill@comcast.net, or find us on Facebook "Abos Onthehill"
