"Keystone Cops"

So, I go to pick up my parents at the airport today and on my way home, Mr. Policeman decides I need a speeding ticket. According to the "Keystone Cop," I was doing 58 in a 45 mph zone. Hmmmm.... really? Questions for ya, genius: Why did you take so long to pull me over and why did the white Volkswagon Bug pull over immediately when s/he saw your pretty flashing lights?? Is it possible the Bug was doing 58 and I was doing a sedate 48??
When questioned, Mr. "Keystone Cop" said "the laser gun was calibrated this morning." Whatever. Aren't there killers, child molesters and various other skanks out there waiting to be arrested?
Now I gotta wait for my "packet" - whatever the fuck that is - to arrive in the mail and hmmm, I think I'll inconvenience Mr. "Keystone Cop" and see him in court.

New shift

I start my new shift today: 1700-0130 (5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. to those who don't recognize military time). I'm actually looking forward to it.
I've got the whole day to enjoy when everyone else is at work (of course these are the people with normal hours and weekends and holidays off). The pool will not be fraught with people, the workout room will be empty, the streets will not be full of commuters dashing home and I will be safe riding my bike. Which reminds me...
I have to go buy a new inner tube. I had a blowout the other day. But I digress...
I think I'll take pictures tonight at work and the hordes of people that we will disservice but I will rejoice because unlike when I work during the day, I won't have to find a way to get them to Bangla-freakin-desh because their flight to SFO has been cancelled due to crybaby flight crews. Waaaa.

The face of the sun

or Satan's lair - it's hotter than either one of those right now. When did Denver become the new Phoenix? or the new Las Vegas? For the love of a higher power, rain already!!!!!!

Barr Lake

Contrary to popular belief, there is something to do out here in the "middle of nowhere." That something is ride around Barr Lake. It's 9 miles, there's no hills and better yet, no people. Lots of birds though, including a pelican (seen here) and cows and bunnies and lizards and horses! It's good to be rural! P.S. Ain't my bike grand?!

A memoriam

My BFF's little kitty passed away this week. She was one hell of a cat.

A movie review

Don't go see "The Happening" whatever you do. Bad acting, bad story, bad concept, bad, bad, bad.... and to top it off, the projection was off so we got to see the boom mike in every shot of actors speaking to each other. Real distracting. Oh, and Marky Mark did not take his shirt off once. I feel gypped. On a brighter note, I just called the theater and will get a free movie pass out of the deal. Maybe I'll go see it again.... or maybe NOT!
