87... 83... 81....

Can anyone guess what those numbers are? Oh, they're the scores on my 3 algebra tests this semester. I'm so proud and I can't wait for the final! Sarcasm, party of 1, your table's ready.

New Brain Cells

Hey! I was reading an article the other day that said that brain cells DO regenerate, so maybe there is hope for all of us who abused our brain cells in our 20s... and 30s... and 40s? Although I did just partake of a wonderful pomegranate margarita. Yum! But those don't kill brain cells, right?

Teresa = Smile

I just wanna say that my friend, Teresa, cracks me up!! See her blog at LifeIsGood.blogspot.com. If I knew how to link you to it, I would but I don't. I can't do algebraic word problems either. Never could. I'm ready to throw my Algebra book out the window but that's another post.

Okay, so I'm NOT scared...

I've been told, oh so lovingly, to "grow a set." Nice. What I meant to say was not that I'm scared, but that I DON'T WANT TO work for this company anymore. I don't want to rebook people. I don't want to load a plane, make announcements, find people's bags, listen to their problems. Yea, yea, that's it. I just DON'T WANT TO. Okay? There's my set. Bite me.

I'm scared

No, not scared, really... I just don't want to!! I don't want to, I don't want to!!! Go to work, that is. And when I don't want to do something, I usually don't do it but I'm getting paid to so I must. Yes, readers, you are confused by this post but it makes perfect sense to me!! And probably to Jerry. I don't want to!!! Boo Radley Hoo!! Call the Whaaaaa-mbulance! Sob... hiccup!!

Could there be a better place than England?

I don't think so. Could have done without the rain but, as my Mum says, "That's England!" I had the best travelling companions a person could ask for - funny, easygoing and willing to partake in a pint or two. I will let the pictures speak for themselves...

DNC

This town is crazy! But crazy in a good way. Hillary was fantastic on Tuesday night, and watching Bill on Wednesday I felt very nostalgic. Remember when he played the sax on Jay Leno? On a celebrity note: I saw Danny Glover at the airport!! Love him! I'm never sure what to do when I see a celebrity . . . Shake their hand and tell 'em how much I love 'em? Stand there staring? Look the other way? Get their autograph? Jump on 'em? Sadly, I just kept moving. That seems to be my M.O.

Stupid Question

Okay, I work at the airport (for an airline I'll call the Titanic) and I wear a uniform. So the question that makes my head explode is: "Do you work here?" Hmmm.... let's think about this. I'm wearing hideous, ill-fitting, non-breathing poly-fucking-esther with a badge and a name tag and people wonder if I work here???? If I may quote the Gail-bird, my answer is "No, I just like the clothes." Hello!!??? When people ask me this question I want to ignore them, I want to turn on my heel and leave in a huff, I want to say "No," but mostly I want to poke their eyes out.
Have a nice day.

Jury Duty

Why? Who cares? I'm never chosen and it's a waste of my time. Henry Fonda made it look fun in "12 Angry Men," didn't he?

Where Can I Get A Cab...

I think this is one of the stupidest questions I hear at the airport. Outside, maybe? Go out the doors where cabs usually are, maybe? Granted there are 3 levels to DIA: departures, ground transportation, arrivals - could make for a little confusion - but seriously... Where can I get a cab?? Oy.

Say a prayer, if you would

My high school prom date, Scott, is battling cancer. I have many, many happy and fun memories of this man. Best laugh in school and smart, too. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks!

Seriously?

Seriously. This is an F650. 6-5-0. WTF? Who needs a truck this big? Who buys a truck this big? Someone who's got a BIG vocabulary and a little DICk-tionary, if you know what I mean!

"Keystone Cops"

So, I go to pick up my parents at the airport today and on my way home, Mr. Policeman decides I need a speeding ticket. According to the "Keystone Cop," I was doing 58 in a 45 mph zone. Hmmmm.... really? Questions for ya, genius: Why did you take so long to pull me over and why did the white Volkswagon Bug pull over immediately when s/he saw your pretty flashing lights?? Is it possible the Bug was doing 58 and I was doing a sedate 48??
When questioned, Mr. "Keystone Cop" said "the laser gun was calibrated this morning." Whatever. Aren't there killers, child molesters and various other skanks out there waiting to be arrested?
Now I gotta wait for my "packet" - whatever the fuck that is - to arrive in the mail and hmmm, I think I'll inconvenience Mr. "Keystone Cop" and see him in court.

New shift

I start my new shift today: 1700-0130 (5 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. to those who don't recognize military time). I'm actually looking forward to it.
I've got the whole day to enjoy when everyone else is at work (of course these are the people with normal hours and weekends and holidays off). The pool will not be fraught with people, the workout room will be empty, the streets will not be full of commuters dashing home and I will be safe riding my bike. Which reminds me...
I have to go buy a new inner tube. I had a blowout the other day. But I digress...
I think I'll take pictures tonight at work and the hordes of people that we will disservice but I will rejoice because unlike when I work during the day, I won't have to find a way to get them to Bangla-freakin-desh because their flight to SFO has been cancelled due to crybaby flight crews. Waaaa.

The face of the sun

or Satan's lair - it's hotter than either one of those right now. When did Denver become the new Phoenix? or the new Las Vegas? For the love of a higher power, rain already!!!!!!

Barr Lake

Contrary to popular belief, there is something to do out here in the "middle of nowhere." That something is ride around Barr Lake. It's 9 miles, there's no hills and better yet, no people. Lots of birds though, including a pelican (seen here) and cows and bunnies and lizards and horses! It's good to be rural! P.S. Ain't my bike grand?!

A memoriam

My BFF's little kitty passed away this week. She was one hell of a cat.

A movie review

Don't go see "The Happening" whatever you do. Bad acting, bad story, bad concept, bad, bad, bad.... and to top it off, the projection was off so we got to see the boom mike in every shot of actors speaking to each other. Real distracting. Oh, and Marky Mark did not take his shirt off once. I feel gypped. On a brighter note, I just called the theater and will get a free movie pass out of the deal. Maybe I'll go see it again.... or maybe NOT!

I went to Washington D.C.

Ahem... I guess I'm a lobbyist. How the hell did that happen? The biggest surprise is that I enjoyed it, once I got over being nervous. It helped to have my partner-in-crime there with me. When we weren't lobbying or listening to speeches or partying with union veeps (yawn), we were tourists with maps and digital cameras taking pictures of our nation's fantastic monuments. Everyone should visit D.C. - you can just feel the patriotism!!

Denver Zoo

It's a beautiful day on my day off so I head to the Denver Zoo. The first exhibit is Predator Ridge and here's Mr. Predator lookin' for prey.... hmmmm... too bad he can't get at us. Ha!

Wichita Zoo

Who knew the Wichita Zoo had such magnificent mountain gorillas? This girl didn't. Their enclosure is huge and grassy and they looked as happy as two misplaced mountain gorillas could be!

April 4th - Opening Day in Denver

Yay!! Baseball is back!

Sneezy

If I sneeze anymore today, it will be too much. I think it's because Sugar the cat pawed my face to wake me up so she could eat. Sweet Sugar is on a diet - she's a 14-pounder - so food has become very important to her. It is no longer in her dish just waiting for her to partake; she gets 1/4 cup in the a.m. and 1/4 cup in the p.m. Boy is she pissed off. So I'm sneezing. I suppose it's time to vacumn, too, but hey, I just vacumned last week!!!
