Cheers for beers...and queers

Saturday night Jerry and I went out to lovely Trax and quite frankly, had a great time. I love the dancers/boy toys in the tight undies gyrating on the risers and even though I know they're gay, a girl can dream. We had some strange encounters with various men and women holding our hands and/or hugging us and/or talking to us but because of the loud music or the beers we could not understand them. At one point one of the afore-mentioned dancers crooked his finger at me and gave me a glow stick. I felt so special! And then another of the afore-mentioned dancers took it from me and put it in his panties. At this point my friend Jerry screamed "Give it back!!" So the dancer did. Don't mess with Jerry. He's 92 pounds if he's an ounce!! And I enjoy him.

I'm a Student

Whoo hoo! Gotta say I'm a little excited. Unfortunately, however, I have to take 3 math classes to get my degree because, hey, I suck at math. But I'm frickin' smart when it comes to language and sentences and I write a mean essay! If I take two classes each semester I'm a half-time student so I should be graduating in 8 years, maybe six if I take summer school? Hey, a thousand-mile journey starts with the first step (or something like that).

Mile High Nationals

Yesterday I went to Bandimere Speedway for Mile High Nationals time trials. A better time could not be had. I don't know why but I love this shit but I do. It energizes me. I love checking out the cars and all the custom work and to hear the engines and smell the exhaust. Somebody raced a Chevy Citation! Couple pickup trucks, too. This was, of course, before the pros in their funny cars and top fuel racers. NOISY! It's like what standing next to a jet at takeoff would be. It's LOUD and the concussion from the engine firing up at the starting line is incredible. (That's where we sat - at the starting line.) You can feel it through your whole body. It's kinda scary.
The variety of people that events like these draw is interesting. Lots of mullets, tattoos, bad fashion and breasts. The breast display I can understand. Hell, my 34Bs were out there, too. You figure cars = guys = women and their boobs. Sounds so shallow but it's true!!

Librarian Anyone?

I had an epiphany today. For months, I have been asking myself the question "What's my passion?" because if I knew the answer, then I'd know which direction to go, right? Right. So today, I'm on my bike, getting some exercise here on the face of the sun - it's hot, yo - and it comes to me...my epiphany...I want to be a Librarian. As a kid, I spent hours in the George Reynolds branch of the Boulder Library. I loved that place. I loved the new book section. I loved the Reference section. I loved the peace, the quiet, the coolness of the library. I'd come home with my backpack stuffed with books and I grab some ice tea, or hot tea, and head out to the back porch to read. I used to plant-sit for a friend of mine and I would head over there to her huge back porch with the plants all around and read, read, read. I'd reluctantly head home for dinner after 2 or 3 hours.
As a librarian, I would help people find books, help people on various computers available, it would be a quiet and peaceful world, air conditioned, people reading and getting smart, kids reading and writing book reports or whatever...what a perfect world! I am so excited to get started on my new career!
